As Executive Director, he will be responsible for leading the institution to provide a premier residency program.
"Jamie brings a youthful enthusiasm to us in this critical time of the life of Hambidge,” said Hambidge Board Chairman David Martin. “He both embraces our newly adopted strategic plan and is full of great ideas for carrying Hambidge into the future.” Well known in the Atlanta arts community for his term at Art Papers, Mr. Badoud is also formally trained as an accountant. “Jamie's financial background and exposure to the art world makes for a perfect combination for leading an organization such as ours."
In seven years of service at Art Papers, Mr. Badoud led the organization from the brink of closure to become one of the most respected art publications in the world. The organization's budget grew by more than 125 percent through a dramatic increase in earned revenues, foundation support, and fundraising revenues. Circulation grew 80 percent to include subscribers in 36 countries and newsstand sales throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
Before joining Art Papers, Mr. Badoud served as Chief Financial Officer of GGC Publishing (dba Jezebel Magazine) where he helped transform the struggling startup magazine into an award winning, nationally recognized publication with a monthly distribution in excess of 50,000. Prior to his work in the publishing industry, he was a public accountant for three years with Atlanta's largest private accounting firm, Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, P.C. There he provided business consultation and audit/tax preparation for clients in numerous industries, including non-profit organizations. A recognized leader, he was elected as a representative of the firm's staff committee and received the All Around Motivator award for his commitment to work and the community.
