Wire Sculpting with Corrina Mensoff. Ages: 8 and up
Corrina is an artist, blacksmith and metal sculptor. Participants will learn a variety of techniques working with wire as a creative medium for chain making. Copper wire, pliers and snippers will be used to cut, coil, bend and create links, and finally to attach them together as a bracelet. |

Art Workshop with Lynne Moody. Ages 7-10. Celebrating "Earth Day" participants will be creatively writing and decorating letters and envelopes on recycled materials and mailing it to a special person. Come join the fun and creativity! |

Wild Food Gathering and Preparation with Chef Cindy Halbkat (Martin). Ages: 7 and up (younger children should be accompanied by an adult) A treat for the whole family! Cindy is a chef, herbalist and master gardener. Join her as she leads the group on a nature walk through the Hambidge forests, fields and gardens gathering plants to prepare a healthy wild greens salad and nettle and wild onion soup. Everyone will take something home after a morning of education and adventure.

Folk Music and Dance with Jan Smith. Fun for all ages.
Fiddler, Jan Smith, will be teaching a workshop on folk music and dance. Come share our Appalachian roots in a morning of entertaining fun! |

Anagama Kiln Firing. It's great fun! Please come join us...it's open to everyone! The participation fee is $50 and includes a cubic foot of firing space. Extra kiln space will be $.02 per cubic inch on a first come first serve basis. Bring your bisque to dance with our Cone 10 wood ash. Sign up for a shift or two and hang out with the other firbugs...and don't forget our Saturday night potluck. Pickup date is April 12. Back to Nature, an exhibition of pottery and art which deals with botanical imagery. This exhibition has been professionally curated by Atlanta curator, Marianne Lambert, and includes approximately 30 artists who reside in Georgia and the Southeast. The theme pays tribute to the beautiful natural surroundings of Hambidge and to its support of both artists and the environment.

"Hush your mouth and say it isn't so!", Southern Folktales with Cathy Kaemmerlen. Noon at Hambidge. Stories from the southern tradition, featuring outrageous characters, situations, and the famous southern drawl.
This program is free and open to the public and is supported in part by the Grass Roots Arts Program of the Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly and in partnership with Sustainable Arts Society, Inc. and also by the Asbury-Warren Foundation.
