We reserve Fourth Saturdays (and sometimes Fifth Saturdays!) for Special Events. These include Gallery openings, workshops, lectures, music and other events yet to be determined.

The Hambidge Saturday Series invites the public to the campus on almost every Saturday for a series of rotating activities. Check the calendar for other Saturday events.

The Fourth Saturday Special Event of April is a much appreciated service project. Beginning at 9:30am on April 28, The Georgia Conservancy and the Hambidge Center are teaming up to help repair trails, create a campsite, and perform ecological restoration on the beautiful – and private – 600-acre artist retreat. Recognized widely for its biodiversity, high ecological value and beauty – the Hambidge Center is opening its doors to the public every 3rd Saturday of the month for a series of Nature Hikes – and this group will help get the trails ready for the visitors! This is an incredible opportunity to hike and camp at a facility normally reserved for the distinguished artists and writers in residence.

We need your help! Click here to volunteer by signing up on the Georgia Conservancy's MeetUp page.

You can also volunteer by emailing Bryan Schroeder at BSchroeder@georgiaconservancy.org.

Service work:
Trail maintenance, creating a campsite, and ecological restoration.

Camping:
In an old farm pasture along a mountain stream and an old grist mill, Hambidge will set up temporary campground for folks interested in camping Friday or Saturday night. We will have a bonfire, lavatory and camp kitchen (bring your own food!) Georgia Conservancy can provide camping equipment if needed - contact Bryan.

Meals:
Hambidge will be hosting a cookout on Saturday night as a way to say thank you to the volunteers. Please bring your own lunch for the service project. Campers will need to bring their own breakfasts.
