Hambidge 2.0 - A Transformational Campaign

Ready To Grow

Now is the time for our the Hambidge Center to create a more sustainable future—to preserve our legacy and dynamic role in the region’s art community, as well as open our doors to the wider public. After many years of listening intently, researching thoroughly, and testing strategically, Hambidge has embarked upon a transformative $3.4 million capital campaign, led by a $1.45 million gift from Susan and Ron Antinori and the Antinori Foundation. The result will be upgrades to all existing studios and the building of new structures that will enable us to support separate collaborative residency programs, plus launch an array of new workshops and special programs to the broader public.

The Hambidge 2.0 campaign will empower us to better nurture the creative spirit while expanding earned revenues. The residency program will not change and will continue its commitment to celebrating the creative process among all disciplines for a small group of dynamic individuals. Workshop attendees and group participants on retreat in the new Anitnori Village will encounter a small-scale version of the time, space, and community that so inspires and energizes Hambidge residents.

Mary Hambidge’s dogtrot-style cabin was used for inspiration by the award-winning Atlanta architectural firm, BLDGS, when designing the Anitnori Village accommodations, which will offer eight spaces developed for multi-use. A common space, equipped with a kitchen, will serve as the meeting and dining space for collaborative residencies and workshops. The Antinori Village will allow us to design intentional public and private programming while preserving the traditional campus as a protected space for the radical freedom to create. Our cherished and proud history will live on with even greater exposure, respect, and impact.

Donor recognition opportunities are available. Donors who make gifts of $5,000 or more will be included on a special donor wall commemorating this historic campaign.
