Start 2026 with a Special New Year’s Woodfiring at Hambidge

Hambidge is excited to kick off 2026 with A Fire Within: An Anagama Firing Retreat, January 1–4. Similar in spirit to our semiannual lottery firings, this event offers a unique advantage: a smaller group (just 12 artists), giving each participant the chance to bring more work or larger pieces.

Over four days, artists will glaze, load, and fire the Hambidge anagama together, sharing meals, shifts, and the collaborative energy that defines woodfiring at Hambidge. It’s an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to fire ambitious forms or expand their practice in the anagama.

With limited space, registration is now open. On-site accommodations available during sign-up.

Visitors are welcome to stop by and observe for free, but you must arrange your visit in advance with Rachel Dimenichi at rdimenichi@hambidge.org.
