[+] Gift Acceptance Policy + Gifts-in-Kind
General Gift Acceptance Policy
The Hambidge Center is proud to accept contributions from individuals, corporations, private/independent foundations, and government grants in accordance with our mission and charity status. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, your gift is tax-deductible according to law. We follow best fundraising practices by honoring the donor bill of rights and acknowledging receipt of each gift via electronic or postal mail. We also choose to recognize our donors each year on our website and other educational materials. If you would like to make a gift of stock, set up an endowment, or include the Hambidge Center in your will, please reach out to our development staff at kderryberry@hambidge.org.
Gifts-in-Kind
A gift-in-kind is an item such as equipment, software, or tools that a donor gives to the Hambidge Center without fee or charge.
We’re grateful to receive gifts-in-kind that support our mission and programs. We ensure these gifts are properly accounted for and acknowledged and, as such, require in-take information about each proposed gift.
If you would like to donate an in-kind gift to the Hambidge Center, please fill our Gifts-in-Kind form and include your name, a description and condition of the item(s), the estimated fair market value of the item(s), and permission to publicly recognize the donation.
The Hambidge Center wants to also ensure we can put your gift-in-kind to use at our facilities or with staff. Each gift is evaluated and approved accordingly. We unfortunately cannot accept items the Hambidge Center doesn’t currently have immediate need for.
Once accepted, the donated items become the property of the Hambidge Center, which retains the right to use or dispose of the gift-in-kind as we need, unless another arrangement has been made with the donor.
All in-kind gifts will receive written acknowledgment and receipt of the gift and can be used for tax-deductible purposes, as according to law.
If you would prefer to make a donation by check, please mail it to: Hambidge, P.O. Box 339, Rabun Gap, GA 30568. Or you may call 770-851-5631.
