“Artists' Residencies have had one of the biggest impacts on my life as an artist. Being removed from one's daily routines is essential for going deeper with one's mission, life's work and purpose. Hambidge's 600 acres changed me. Normally when I arrive at a residency, I get to work immediately. It is what I am there for. But with Hambidge, I listened to the environment and ended up not 'working' immediately. This led me going deeper into what my next moves are as an artist. I hiked every day, I slowed down and started listening to the ideas of 'infinite patience'. I purged old ideas of quantity over quality. Spending time chewing on ideas, and letting go of those ideas that no longer serve me. I ended up making more work in less time because I was laser-focused on this idea of infinite patience. I lost my franticness as an artist. The freedom I found there in my own studio practice is life-changing. Thank you Hambidge.”
