Parental Residencies
Over the past few years, we’ve hosted several parental residencies and are excited to continue offering the opportunity for parents to be in residence at Hambidge.
Things you should know before applying for a residency:
Hambidge does not offer programming for children.
Residents are asked to attend the communal resident dinner 4 nights per week. This is often a time of deep conversation and connection. To allow all residents to focus on conversations that will further their work, we don’t allow children to attend these dinners. We are happy to make a to-go box of food for your child & caretaker.
We do not provide childcare. We have contact information for local high-schoolers who babysit.
You have the option of bringing a partner or caretaker to provide child care.
You, your child/children, and your partner/caretaker will stay in the same studio. Our studios all include living areas. We have two studios with a futon/hide-a-bed, but studios are open floor plans and there will not be a separate bedroom for your child or caretaker.
Our studios are not childproof. You must bring things like baby gates and cabinet door locks, if your child is of the age to need them.
Please contact us at office@hambidge.org or 706-746-7324 to discuss additional details before submitting your application.
