ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This introduces participants to the life cycle of solitary stem-nesting bees and the native plants they depend on. Attendees will then create their own bee hotels to take home—each featuring a 5-inch square sheltered opening filled with stems and/or blocks. Participants will also receive a seed packet to start a garden of hollow-stem plants that provide essential habitat for these important pollinator
All experience levels welcome.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
John Kotab has lived in Franklin NC for 5 years, and wrote a book about pollinators called “Bee The Change: If We Protect, Nature Will Provide” During the writing of this 150-page book, he was able to interview ten individuals that were steeped in the world of pollinators, and have since continued to learn more about them.
ELIGIBILITY: Your primary address must be in Rabun County in order to attend this workshop. You will be asked to show ID with your address upon arriving.
Space is limited to 10 participants.
Each participant must register separately.
Open to local creatives over the age of 12.
Minors must be accompanied by a participating adult. Minors will not be asked for ID; only adults.
