ABOUT THE WORKSHOP RETREAT
In this hands-on workshop, participants will have the opportunity to create functional forms through pinch pot, coil pot, and slab-built techniques. Students will learn how to transform simple forms into thoughtfully designed vessels as mugs, bowls, plates, and small containers.
Through guided demonstrations and individualized instruction, participants will be encouraged to focus on both form and function, making forms that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical for everyday use.
Surface design will be part of the creative process. Demonstrations will include slip applications, sgraffito, and a variety of texture techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with these techniques.
By the end of this workshop, participants will have completed several functional pieces and gained a strong foundation in hand-building methods that can be continued and expanded upon in future projects.
