Bidding and sales will take place within the online auction platform of GiveSmart, which will be linked to the auction website.

What is the Auction website?

Yes, artists receive two tickets to the Art Auction Performance Party on April 18.

Do artists who contribute artwork get tickets to the Auction event?

This information will populate our online auction, which allows collectors to purchase the artwork. We also feature some pieces of artwork in our publicity posts and emails. If your work is used for this, you will be credited as the artist.

We ask for a 200-word or less narrative bio. Your bio is the primary tool by which collectors learn about you and your accomplishments.

How do you use the information I submit?

We have instituted a new, higher, starting bid amount for all silent auction artwork:

70% of the retail value, up from the 40-60% we’ve recommended in the past.

What will the Starting Bid be for my artwork?

If you reside in the Atlanta area, please plan to deliver your work to Uptown Atlanta, 500 Lindbergh Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30324 on Friday, March 6, 12-6pm, or Saturday, March 7, 10am-4pm.

If you reside outside of the Atlanta area, please ship your work to the following address for delivery no later than Monday, March 2.  Jamie Badoud, ATTN: Hambidge Auction, 2310 Cottage Grove Avenue SE, Atlanta GA 30317

Please make sure that both your artwork and packaging are clearly labeled with your name for easy identification. If you have any questions about shipping your work, please email auction@hambidge.org

When, where, and how do I need to ship/deliver my artwork?

The artist pays for shipping to Atlanta. Hambidge will cover the cost of returning the work to you should your auction piece not sell and you wish to have it back.

Who pays for shipping?

We ask that all works be installation ready. If your artwork hangs on the wall, it must have some form of hanging hardware, i.e.: D-rings, a wire or hanger. If your work is intended to be unframed, or has special installation needs, please include hanging hardware and instructions.

What does it mean for my work to be “installation ready”?

Any artwork that does not sell during the auction will be available on the following day as collectors pick up work. If your $200 piece did not sell, you’ve indicated that you want it back, and you live in the Atlanta area, we will contact you by April 24th. We ask that you please make every effort to come by between 10 am and 4pm between April 27 - May 1 to pick up your artwork. If that is impossible, make other arrangements with us at auction@hambidge.org. If you live outside of Atlanta, we will mail the work to you.

What happens if my work doesn’t sell?

If you follow the bidding on our auction site, you will be able to see if your work sold when we close the silent auction (you must register with our auction in GiveSmart in order to do this). If you are local to Atlanta and your work did not sell, we will alert you by April 24th. If you are not local, we will notify you and ship your work to you. If your piece DID sell, within a few weeks’ time, Hambidge will send you an email with the name of the collector who purchased your work along with the sale price

How will I know if my work sold and who purchased it?

Please allow us up to 30 days to mail your commission check to you. If you have not received your commission check within 60 days, please contact us at auction@hambidge.org so we can figure out what the problem is.

When and how will I receive payment for my artwork?

Please email auction@hambidge.org.
